Kyosho | FAZER D2 FZD2 Drift Car Series, Classic AE86

Kyosho released the 1/10 2WD FAZER D2 FZD2, the first in a new series of drift cars. The first model will be paired with the classic Toyota SPRINTER TRUENO AE86!

This is a new performance drift platform, equipped with a newly designed electronic device, setting a new benchmark for RC drift cars. This easy-to-learn RWD model uses a chassis designed specifically for drifting, equipped with a gyroscope system for easy drift control, and also features Kyosho's highly simulated ULTRA SCALE BODY (ultra-realistic shell). The chassis supports adjustments to the wheelbase and track width and is compatible with various shell styles. A variety of settings and tuning options allow you to explore the joys of drift control, and the Readyset kit makes it easy for beginners to get started.

Kyosho's meticulously crafted ULTRA SCALE BODY shell faithfully reproduces every detail of the body, including the AE86's iconic opening headlights, bumpers, and mirrors, presenting a realistic display-level model appearance. The ULTRA SCALE BODY PLUS goes a step further, eliminating external mounting holes (shell clips) on the shell, making the appearance even more realistic. The classic Toyota AE86 Sprinter Trueno, released in 1983, has been loved for nearly 40 years.

It will be officially unveiled at the 2025 Nuremberg Toy Fair in Germany and is scheduled to go on sale in March!


Features

  • Plastic drift tires: Standard drift tires provide the best balance between drift sliding and control.
  • Brake details: The rims are equipped with virtual brake callipers and brake discs, significantly enhancing the simulation.
  • Spool Axle: The rear wheels use a rigid spool axle with no differential function to ensure smooth drifting.
  • Hidden headlights: Supports optional Micro Servo (ON-MS18), LED light set (97054-4HR), and supercharger kit (FAB707-01SMB).
  • Hidden shell mounting design: The newly designed hidden mounting bracket eliminates exposed mounting posts and clips, ensuring the integrity of the ultra-realistic shell appearance.
  • Adjustable wheelbase: The resin chassis is divided into two parts, front and rear, and the wheelbase can be changed by adjusting the connection points, compatible with various shell styles.
  • Battery tray: Compatible with various sizes of battery packs, supporting most RC batteries on the market.
  • Front suspension: The long-span double A-arm suspension provides ample turning angles and supports adjustable camber, roll centre, and geometry.
  • Motor mount: No complex gear meshing adjustments are required. Kyosho's 48P 16-37T gears allow easy gear ratio changes.



Drift Performance

  • Four-Gear Design: Utilizing the motor's counter-torque maximizes rear wheel traction and grip.
  • Tire Grip adjustment: Adjusting the motor position affects the body's roll characteristics, optimizing rear wheel grip.
  • Optional differential: Supports Kyosho 2WD racing off-road car gear differential and ball differential to adjust rear wheel grip (requires separately sold universal joint shaft No. FAW305).
  • Oil Shock: Standard red anodized shock cover optimizes chassis roll performance.
  • Gear Guard: Installing a gear guard can prevent damage to gears from gravel and other foreign objects during parking lot driving.
  • Full Bearing Drive System: Standard 16 bearings ensure smooth and efficient transmission.
  • Built-in Gyroscope Receiver: The newly developed KRG-331D receiver integrates a gyroscope unit optimized for drifting, which can adjust the steering wheel and throttle. Sensitivity can be easily adjusted via the dial.
  • 60A Electronic Speed Controller: KYOSHO SPEED HOUSE ESC (super plug connector) supports three modes: forward/brake/reverse (default), forward/brake, and forward/reverse. The ESC is installed at the rear of the car, optimizing weight distribution during drifting, and can be easily disassembled and maintained with a single screw.
  • High-Performance Servo: The new KS4072-06W servo provides ideal drift steering characteristics and works in conjunction with the newly developed gyroscope unit to ensure precise counter-steering control. The servo is also very easy to replace.
  • 540 specification motor: Equipped with a G22 brushed motor, the power is easy to control, and suitable for drift beginners and advanced control.
